The Academy Grande Prairie – An Alternative Program of the Grande Prairie Public School District

A passion for sport or fine art can positively drive a passion for education and character development. Our goal is to integrate excellence in education, athletics, and positive character development in every day of our student-athletes’ educational experience. Come see what passion driven education can do for you!

The Academy Grande Prairie is offered out of three schools across the Grande Prairie Public School District. Our main campus is at Alexander Forbes – The Academy School which hosts our grades four to eight student-athletes. We have satellite campuses at  Charles Spencer High School for our grades nine to twelve students and at Ecole Montrose for our grades five to eight French Immersion students.

WE BELIEVE IN EXCELLENCE

Excellence is at the core of our philosophy. We strive for excellence and inspire our student-athletes to achieve it as well; in learning, sport and life.

WE BELIEVE IN ACADEMICS

Excellence in academics goes hand-in-hand with sport. Our student-athletes don’t just excel on the field, they excel in the classroom too.

WE BELIEVE IN COMMUNITY

Being a part of our community means contributing back to it. This is a value we live by and instil into every one of our student-athletes.

Our Mission

To create a distinctive community dedicated to true passion-based learning. To become a Husky means to commit to the highest standard of personal integrity, honesty, and academic growth. By combining this commitment to the pursuit of one’s own passion, we believe we can create a positive environment in which each student-athlete will realize their potential; academically, personally, and within their passion of choice.
